Ali-a crutu!!
I hope that people see the difference between them. They are both important people in that culture. Both of them were first in what they do. I would tell them to get someone that they are very interested in. Someone who interests them will make their photo shoot so much for fun.
I like the color of the painting used in the photo. The color adds an interest factor to the photo that helps bring in the eye of the viewer. This aspect of interest makes the photo a lot more intriguing. Light in the photo could be better. There is not enough light to identify the face enough. It’s hard to identify who the celebrity is in the image due to the lack of light. Therefore, since there is a lack of light it takes away the point of the Cretu image which is to blend in the face of the celebrity in the painting. Express more detail and make that a key factor. Since there is not enough light, a bunch of detail gets taken away. This includes the face, the flag in the background, and the horse in the back.
I like most how the face matches the original painting both in skin tone and in texture. Another thing I like about the face is that it has similar lighting to the original photo. I also really like the connection between Ali-a to George Washington as it makes an interesting comparison between creating a new country and the amazing online community that Ali-a created.
One thing that could be better is the connection between the original photo and the pop-culture reference, it’s a good connection but there are probably better ones. I think you also could have better mentioned the connection and who and what these two people did that relates them as it was hard to figure out.
One piece of advice I would suggest is to put a mask over the whole photo to just help blend the new and original image together. I would also advise you to crop out the other person in the cretu that is next to the horse as it takes the eyes away from the main person.
